I thought now may be a great time to talk bridal makeup trends for 2025! Whether you’re planning a lavish countryside wedding or an intimate bash such as at the Holmfirth Vinyard, I’ve got the inside scoop on what’s hot (and what’s not) for this year. Grab a cuppa, and let’s dive in!
1. "Barely There" but Better
Good news for fans of the natural look: "No-makeup makeup" is here to stay! But, of course, we're taking it to the next level. Think glowing skin, soft eyes, and a little extra oomph. It's all about looking like you, but... you at your very best. Think dewy foundation, soft blush, and a bit of shimmer in all the right places. It's the "I woke up like this" vibe, but with a bit of help from some expert brushes!
2. Bold Lips, Big Impact
While soft and subtle is trending for the skin, the lips are getting a serious upgrade. Bold, statement lips in rich reds, berry tones, and even the odd orange are making a comeback. So, if you’ve ever wanted to rock a red lip on your wedding day, now’s the time to go for it.
3. Eye-catching Lashes
Don’t worry—your lashes won’t be overlooked in 2025. Whether you go for the natural flutter of wispy lashes or something more dramatic, lashes are here to stay! Think volume, length, and lots of lift. But don’t worry, no spidery lashes in sight here! The key is getting a flutter that feels glamorous without looking too over-the-top. It’s perfect for those of you who want a bit of drama but still want to keep things looking fresh and modern.
5. Glowing Skin > Everything Else
Honestly, when was glowing skin not on trend? But in 2025, the glow is going ultra-natural. Think fresh, hydrated, and radiant—not shiny or oily. Dewy foundations, highlighters that catch the light just so, and skincare prepping that leaves your skin looking like it’s been kissed by the sun (but without the tan lines). Skincare is taking the lead in bridal beauty, so don't forget to hydrate and exfoliate ahead of time—glowing skin starts well before the makeup is applied! Bridal looks are not just about trends—it’s about what makes you feel fabulous. Whether you want a pop of colour, glowy skin, or to embrace your natural features with minimal makeup, customised bridal beauty is big in 2025. You’ll work with your makeup artist (hint, hint, that’s where I come in) to ensure your makeup complements your unique style and vibe, making sure you feel like the best version of yourself.
7. Sustainable, Eco-Friendly Beauty
Eco-conscious beauty is having a moment, and it’s no surprise! With the rise of green beauty products, brides are seeking out cruelty-free, vegan, and sustainable makeup options. Not only will you look beautiful on your big day, but you'll also be making an impact in a positive way. Think of it as a little extra sparkle in your heart while you rock your perfect look. 8. The Return of the Blush!
After a few years of skipping it, blush is officially back (and I for one am so glad- I love a bit of blush!). Bright, flushed cheeks add a youthful, radiant glow that makes you look both fresh and flushed with love. So, if you thought blush was a thing of the past, think again!
9. Glitter and Glamour (But Tastefully!)
It’s not a wedding without a little sparkle, right? Glitter eyeshadows are going to be everywhere in 2025, but with a twist—think subtle, refined shimmer instead of full-on disco ball vibes. Just a touch of shimmer on the lids or inner corners of the eyes can make all the difference when you catch the light.
